Xposed modules are only APK files that can be installed like any other APK. the Xposed Installer app has a download section that contains many modules, but you can also find additional modules in the form of APK on XDA and other sites. To install one of modules available in the Xposed Installer application, open the app and go to the Download section. You will see a long list of available modules, each with a description of what it does. Select the module you want to install by tapping on it, and you'll be shown details about it. We chose the Advanced Power Menu Module here which adds advanced options on the power menu you get when long pressing the power button.
Scroll down on the details page and you will see a download button. Press, and it will start downloading. Once it has been downloaded, you will get a prompt similar installation you get when an application sideloading its APK. Go ahead and install
There. - The module has been installed. In case you want to install the APK module directly, just like any other sideload APK, and it will also get installed.
Activating and using an Xposed Framework module
installation itself does not allow the module; it is only accessible Xposed. Whether you install an application module Xposed Installer directly or sideloading its APK, you will see a notification telling you that the module is not active. Press this notification and you'll be redirected to the Application Modules section Xposed Installer. (You can also go directly by opening the application and tapping Install Xposed Modules.) Here you can enable or disable any of the available modules using the check box next to them.
Tapping the entry of any module here takes you to the configuration page, where you can play with the settings to tweak the way you want. The modules may require you to restart your device for their changes to take effect. If this is the case, do so after allowing it. Once a module has been installed, activated and configured, you'll be able to start using its features. In our example, the module has changed our stock Android Power menu 4.3 Jelly Bean ROM on Galaxy Nexus to the one shown below, adding Reboot and Capture options. The menu added by this module more restart to restart in recovery and a warm start, in addition to normal.
The way Xposed functions and the opportunities it opens make a truly revolutionary development in the world of Android customization. With the right selection of modules, you can have almost all the major features of the popular custom ROMs on your device, while staying on the stock ROM and without blinking all file recovery.
